Dr. Aja King is a licensed professional clinical counselor with a doctor of education degree in counseling psychology. She has worked in the mental wellness field for over 19 years, and focuses on using holistic approaches with her clients. Dr. King has dedicated her life to breaking the stigma of mental health, and breaking barriers through advocacy in human rights. Dr. King believes that children's books are a means to push the barriers in literature by normalizing the black experience through three concepts: love, imagination, and unrelenting truth.
